Job Description
The nursing education specialist (NES) works collaboratively to assess, plan, implement and evaluate educational activities through a systems model for Department of Nursing staff including orientation, professional development, and competency programs. Roles of the NES include: educator, facilitator, change agent, collaborator, advisor, mentor, consultant, researcher, and leader. This position will support nurses in Medical/Surgical units.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Nursing required, Master's Degree in Nursing Education preferred. Minimum of three years of nursing practice experience.
Basic Cardiac Life Support for healthcare providers- BCLS -- certificate of course completion required and must not expire within 3 months after start date. A scanned copy of the certificate of completion or transcripts, including your full name, must be attached to your profile to be considered.
We will only accept certificates of course completion from the following providers:
* American Heart Association (Title: BLS for Healthcare Providers)
* Red Cross (Title: CPR/AED for Professional Rescuers and Health Care Providers)
* Military Training Network
Other Qualifications:
Strong communication, listening, organization, critical thinking, analytical, problem-identification and resolution skills. Ability to assess, plan, implement and evaluate staff competency around practice changes. Good computer skills -- Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) Ability to prioritize duties and work independently.
License or Certification:
Current WI RN license and BLS Certification
Benefit Eligible: Yes
Exemption Status: Exempt
Hours/Pay Period: 80
Schedule Details: Primarily Monday - Friday, Days.
Weekend Schedule: N/A
