Role Summary:
The Director, Retail/Trade Marketing will be responsible for development, strategic direction and execution of retail programs for Latin America with an emphasis on Mexico and Brazil. The focus of the position is to maintain ongoing relationships with key retailers including buyers and marketing to maximize placement and sales of licensed products, deliver significant retail marketing, media value and promotional activity and create cohesive programs incorporating all Universal/NBCU business units. (promotions, home entertainment and consumer products). This role is based in Los Angeles, CA and will report to the VP, Global Retail with a dotted line into the VP, Latin America.
Essential Responsibilities:
Manage relationship, development and execution of retail programs to achieve/support organizational objectives including, market share, volume, revenue, placement and brand awareness
Oversee and monitor retail financials in market including market share by retailer, overall retail sales by property and annual growth plans
Maintain ongoing buyer and marketing relationships and communication at key retailers
Responsible for organizing key meetings and film property presentations with retailers and collaborating with local agent and licensee, theatrical and dvd teams. Includes delivering creative, premiums, costumed characters for key meetings
Primary partners are VP Retail, VP/Directors Consumer Products, Local Agents, local Brand Director, Global Marketing and Franchise teams
Careful coordination with US marketing team to ensure creative is consistent and on brand
Responsible for the retail marketing budgets of the accounts and ensuring revenue goals are met
Ability to influence the account
Manage execution of complex marketing programs that cross multiple business segments ( toys, dvd, apparel) and marketing vehicles ( in store, online, social, media, circular, PR, events)
Serve as marketing expert and provide innovative ideas and thought leadership on retail programs that drive objectives
Be knowledgeable and up to date on retail and marketing activity and trends in Latin America Qualifications/Requirements Basic Qualifications:
5+ years of retail marketing/account management experience
3+ years LatAm experience and understanding of the Consumer Products retail landscape
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail working in a fast paced environment
Fluency in Spanish, both written and verbal
Excellent presentation skills with executive presence and leadership
Eligibility Requirements:
