Cleveland Clinic is seeking individuals to join our PAS Registration, Emergency Department and Admitting teams at Hillcrest Hospital! The Part time employees will work flexible, traditional and non-traditional hours, to accommodate the needs of our patients and to assist with keeping operations running. Members of this team provide a comprehensive set of business, financial, and appointment related services. Multiple positions are available!

PAS Financial Counselors are cross-trained to staff all areas of Patient Access at any facility, including but not limited to Front Desk, Admitting Office, ER registration, Cashier, Pre-registration, verification, pre-certification, scheduling and financial counseling. They identify and utilize appropriate reports to contact insurance payers for resolution to accounts that are pending, denied or in the appeal process.

All positions posted are PART TIME, Every Other Weekend and Rotating Holidays Required!

Hillcrest Hospital - 5:00pm to 10:00pm, EOW

Hillcrest Hospital - 3:00pm to 9:00pm, EOW

Hillcrest Hospital - 6:00am to 2:30pm, EOW

Hillcrest Hospital - 10:00pm to 6:30am, EOW

Summary: Provides a comprehensive set of business, financial, and appointment related services.

Job Responsibilities: Cross-trained to staff all areas of Patient Access at any facility, including but not limited to Front Desk, Admitting Office, ER registration, Cashier, Pre-registration, verification, pre-certification, scheduling and financial counseling. Identifies and utilizes appropriate reports to contact insurance payers for resolution to accounts that are pending, denied or in the appeal process. Functions as a Super User. Acts as a resource for training of new team members and during the implementation of new processes. Other duties as assigned.

Education: High School diploma or equivalent. An Associate's degree may substitute for up to one year of the stated experience; a Bachelor's degree may substitute for up to two years of stated experience.

Experience: Two years of relevant experience in Patient Access and/or Patient Accounting or a minimum of three (3) years customer service interacting with the public by telephone or in person in a similar role or capacity.

Complexity of Work: Basic PC software application knowledge and ability to use multiple data systems required. Must be able to type 35 wpm. Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology sufficient to understand physician orders or completion of course within 1 year. Must be detail oriented. Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills required. Must be able to multi-task and maintain composure in difficult situations in a fast-paced environment. Demonstrates a positive and professional approach and communicates effectively with customers and team members.

Licensure/Certification/Registration: Certified Healthcare Access Associate (CHAA), offered through the National Association of Healthcare Access Management (NAHAM) preferred.

Physical Requirements: Sufficient mobility and strength to move around the department and throughout the facility. Ability to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time. Excessive walking and standing while obtaining patient information when using laptop computer on wheeled device for bedside registration. Ability to lift 25 pounds.
