DESCRIPTION:

This advertisement is for a career service position located at Hamilton Correctional Institution in the warehouse department.

SALARY WILL BE DETERMINED IN ACCORDANCE WITH CURRENT PAY POLICY. EMPLOYEES ARE NORMALLY HIRED AT THE MINIMUM OF THE SALARY RANGE.

The incumbent in this position is considered to have regulatory responsibilities and is subject to the provisions of Chapter 60L-36, Florida Administrative Code. The incumbent in this position is expected to become familiar in the Department's reentry initiatives; display leadership skills that demonstrate the Department's commitment to reentry efforts while maintaining a professional demeanor. The incumbent in this position is expected to perform other duties as necessary. The employee(s) in the position(s) allocated to this class must spend a minimum of 75 percent of their time performing duties which involve contact with patients/inmates in a correctional or forensic facility or institution. The incumbent may be acting on behalf of the Service Center providing administrative checks and balances needed at the local entities to ensure that the assets of the Department are protected and all legislative requirements are met. Duties may include, but will not be limited to the following: Provides clerical and operational support of the daily operation, where applicable, of the mailroom, institutional canteens, inmate discharge function and cash receipts, payroll distribution, institution resource room and laundry operations. This includes, but is not limited to, the receipt, storage and distribution of commodities from the CDW and vendors; receipt, inspection and distribution of all mail for the institution as outlined by procedure. Performs Purchasing Card processor duties. Distributes all incoming and outgoing institutional mail, prepares routine replies to correspondence/inquires and types reports. Assists vendors, Service Center staff and institutional staff with routine questions and/or problems. Maintains suspense files, permanent files and tickler files on documents and ensures timely action is taken.
