Overview:

The Retail Business Manager is primarily responsible for the management and development of retail conditions for an assigned market. They are responsible for representing Acosta and our principal through the management of retail store coverage, set coverage, or coverage of special projects, and executing objectives as set forth by the principal to achieve superior in-store results in territories or stores.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver Sales Fundamentals (Distribution, Shelving, Merchandising, and Pricing) across agreed to retail priorities. Ensuring active participation in client planning meetings.
  • Ensure Client Sales Objectives are followed by the Retail Selling Organization.
  • Pro-actively communicate with principal.
  • Work with Client(s) and multi-function resources (Marketing, Sales Technology, etc.) to communicate customer needs, objectives, and future plans to retail sales organization.
  • Effectively and properly use Acosta’s internal reporting systems and technology to have an effective feedback and measurement system.
  • Request and analyze specific retail conditions information (through Acosta’s internal reporting systems and technology) to develop data-based analyses and improve retail in-store presence results.
  • Provide business insight to client regarding the expected retail priorities or objectives.
  • Understand and interpret client service level agreements to ensure meeting retail objectives.
  • Perform special assignments as requested.

Requirements

  • Prior food broker, retail and set responsibility experience preferred.
  • Prior supervisory experience is preferred.
  • Must possess strong interpersonal, organizational and sales skills.
  • Must be able to effectively communicate with others.
  • Must possess the ability to manage and negotiate competing expectations among multiple parties.
  • Must have the ability to prioritize multiple demands simultaneously.
  • Must be able to show proven analytical ability with attention to details.
  • Must be proficient with computers including in-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Outlook) and a working knowledge of Adobe Acrobat is preferred.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and must be able to drive a car for extended periods of time.
