Description

Senior Accounting and Financial Analyst

The Senior Accounting and Financial Analyst will supervise one employee and perform the necessary tasks to complete the period closing process in SAP, including the calculation, analysis, and reporting of variances, monthly accruals and balance sheet reconciliation. Perform the necessary analysis and provide a timely estimate for the Flash. Assist in the monthly forecast and the yearly budget process. Provide local finance support for Capital spends, EAM (spare parts management), AP, spending tracking and control, and provide plant management with relevant financial data for decision making.

Position Responsibilities
  1. Commute from the Carlstadt plant to the Carteret plant as well as to the Avenel Regional Distribution Center on a weekly basis to provide finance/accounting support.
  2. Responsible for the oversight of AP and PCard functions at locations and will have 1 direct report to lead within this function.
  3. Perform period closing activities, analysis, reclass & accrual journal entries, variance calculations, balance sheet account reconciliations, and month end reporting.
  4. Provide Flash data on day 1 of month end.
  5. Assist in the monthly forecast and yearly budget.
  6. Review weekly general ledger review and analysis.
  7. Perform all the necessary reconciliations.
  8. Provide guidance and support to the Plant Operations team concerning all AP processing such as resolving parked & blocked items, PCard spend accruals, monitoring PO’s, clearing open AP items (MR11) and resolving goods receipt issues.
  9. Provide audit and accounting oversight support for the plant’s capital spending program.
  10. Provide plant management with financial data relevant to decision making and work on special projects as directed by manager.
  11. Provide audit and accounting oversight support for the plant’s EAM (Enterprise Asset Management) program for spare parts. Provide data on the cycle counts necessary for the quarter. Review and check operations complied with company policy concerning cycle counts and spare parts management.
  12. Assist in the yearly inventory of raw materials, packaging and finished goods.
  13. Review SOX policies, audit plant for compliance. Utilize SAP and Excel extensively for various projects, as assigned and job performance requirements.

Qualifications

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university with a focus/concentration in Finance and / or Accounting
  • 8 years of relevant accounting or finance experience
  • 4 years’ experience in Microsoft Excel (Pivot Table, writing functions, V Look-Ups)
  • 4 years’ experience using SAP or similar financial ERP system in the area of AP, general ledger, and reporting
  • 5 years of experience supporting manufacturing / production group
