ESSENTIAL FUNCTION:
The basic function of the Assistant Shipping Manager is to oversee the work of the associates responsible for store replenishment and next day shipping operations. The shipping function is performed on a 3rd shift schedule.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES:
The following duties and responsibilities are essential in the daily execution of the position:
•Provide leadership and dependability as well as coordinate all duties of the shift associates.
•Review all procedures involved with the loading, unloading, check-in, scanning and product movement process.
•Demonstrate knowledge of security procedures to ensure controlled inventory processes.
•Correct product handling issues along with maintaining a safe work environment.
•Oversee all processes of shipping to ensure accuracy of paperwork and inventory; make sure all inventory is accurately placed at appropriate locations.
•Collaborate with the Shipping Manager to plan, organize, and develop a strategy for scheduling of store replenishment.
•Collaborate with the Shipping Manager to monitor and track the productivity levels of all shift associates.
•Collaborate with the Shipping Manager to maintain proper staffing levels. Including, but not limited to; interviewing, on-boarding, and training.
•Manage associate attendance/occurrence records in absence of the Shipping Manager.
•Support the ongoing development of associates.
•Must be able to operate all warehouse machinery including order picker, reach truck and lift truck and any future equipment utilized in the day to day warehouse operation.
•Maintain a clean facility at all times.

Requirements:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:
•Proven leadership skills including ability to direct work of others
•High school education (or equivalent)
•1-3 years of supervisory/managerial experience
•5 plus years of experience in related field (i.e., logistics, distribution, etc.)
•Ability to plan effectively
•Excellent communications skills

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Job Classification: Medium
Exerting 400 to 100 pounds minimally, 100 to 50 pounds occasionally, 50 to 25
pounds frequently, and/or less than 25 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
Physical demand requirements are in excess of those for medium work.
