Primary Responsibilities:



  • Role may include triaging/resolving operational issues/concerns relating to appeals request, providing operational instructions to appeals technicians and addressing operational and compliance needs
  • Role may include contacting members, doctor's offices and other internal departments in order to securing the clinical and other benefits-related information necessary to complete appeals reviews
  • Role may also include resolving customer service-related and escalated issues and ensuring accurate service-related information is provided
  • Role may include administrative duties, such as time card verification, one-on-one meetings with staff, attendance/tardiness tracking and management of staff performance
  • Demonstrate ability to strengthen productive working relationships and effectively communicate (verbally and in writing) with team members, other internal and external customers, and management team
  • Proactively counsels staff and holds them accountable for the quality metrics
  • Highly skilled at feedback and communication, and coaches team members on a proactive and consistent basis in order to set performance expectations
  • Holds team members accountable for CMS and regulatory knowledge (i.e. Chapter 18), and ensures that this is consistently incorporated into performance feedback, as well as reviewed in team meetings
  • Proactively manages case inventory, and forms productive working relationship with Work Force Planning and Pharmacy Management teams to review and plan team workloads effectively
  • Ensures that team members are working assigned cases in a proactive manner in order to meet all regulatory and internal TATs
  • Adheres and utilizes quality model and feedback processes to ensure that quality metrics are reviewed on a consistent basis
  • Maintains updated desk level procedures, and ensures that all team members are consistently updated processing SOPs
  • Develops and cross trains staff to ensure engagement and retention of employees
  • Works on special projects as assigned by Manager

Requirements

Required Qualifications:



  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Availability to work 40 hours per week including evenings, weekends and overtime, as required, according to the needs of the business
  • 2+ years of Pharmacy-related or Customer Service experience analyzing and solving customer service related issues
  • 1+ year of prior experience leading/supervising a team
  • Advanced PC skills with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook

Preferred Qualifications:



  • Associate's or Bachelor's Degree
  • Current California Pharmacy Technician State License with no restriction
  • Managed Care Pharmacy experience
  • Knowledge of Medicare policies and CMS regulations
