The FMO/Broker Agent Manager is responsible for achieving assigned sales/membership growth targets through the agents in his/her market. FMOs are agencies that contract with United Healthcare Medicare & Retiree to sell our products to prospective buyers. The Agent Manager may interact with all levels of staff within the FMO up to and including a local owner/leader. The FMO Agent Manager will be responsible for coordinating the support with other internal resources to conduct regular visits to their assigned agents with the objective of growing business and improving performance while following compliance with CMS and UnitedHealthcare Medicare & Retirement policies/practices and adherence to the use of technology. This job is a critical lever in communicating to agents how important they are to us and in advocating on behalf of the constituent to ensure we quickly identify and escalate issues and barriers that are preventing them from achieving their sales results and/or compliance.


 


Primary Responsibilities:



  • Achieve/Exceed Market Growth and Compliance Goals for Assigned Territory
  • Identify top producers, building long-term relationships and maximizing their sales success
  • Schedule and conduct meetings/training with Broker agents to ensure they are effective trained and effective in selling our entire product portfolio
  • Ensure Agents are using our needs based selling methodology in conducting one-on-one and group presentations with potential customers including the ability to customize sales presentations, using sales skills to increase effectiveness in establishing rapport, assessing individual needs and communicating product features and differences resulting in the customer selecting the appropriate insurance product that meets their explicit health care needs
  • Ensure Agents understand state and Federal regulations to be in compliance with all sales and marketing practices as well as business policy and procedures of UnitedHealthcare Medicare & Retirement
  • Ensure Agents communicate to Medicare beneficiaries accurately so they understand the product choices available to them, the enrollment process (eligibility requirements, Medicare review/approval of their enrollment application, timing of ID card receipt, etc.) and the service contacts and process
  • Foster and maintain strategic relationships
  • Develops relationships with key Broker organizations and individuals that meet strategic objectives while creating sales/retention opportunities
  • Positively impact team environment
  • Work effectively with fellow associates to further the goals of the business. Lead participation in, and facilitation of, team effectiveness, taking actions demonstrating consideration for the feelings and needs of others
  • Assist agents in uncovering market niches and actively pursuing growth opportunities. Monitor sales results, trends and key performance indicators (KPI's) and hold agents accountable for achieving targets
  • Product portfolio knowledge: Achieve and maintain strong knowledge of United Healthcare Medicare & Retirement products. Understand the target audience of our products and how to position products and value proposition to remain competitive
  • Territory will be the greater Chicagoland

 


 

Requirements

Required Qualifications:



  • High School diploma or GED
  • 3+ years sales in the senior insurance market (Medicare Advantage, Long term care, Medicare Sups)experience
  • A current license to sell health insurance
  • Must have a reliable vehicle, driving record in good standing and appropriate insurance

Preferred Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree
  • 3+ years of sales management experience
  • Excellent communications skills both verbal and written
  • Experience communicating complex information via in person presentations, phone conversations and emails
  • Proven relationships within market with Brokers or network sources
