Position Purpose:
Ability to perform but not limited to the following tasks, be familiar with and able to interpret packing slips, enter into the computer the correct information, to acknowledge receipt of the goods into the customer shipment processing database. Be familiar with proper packaging methods.
Essential Job Function:
Support the shipment of goods produced and the received goods and supplies to be used in or to aid in the production/storage of goods destined for sale to our customer base. Responsible to make arrangements for pick-up by the carrier specified on the customer's purchase order via the shipping instructions. Must be able to fill out bills of lading and be familiar with various international forms that are used and required by the major freight carriers. Other forms such as Certificate of Compliance, Certificate of Origin as required by customer's purchase order.
Other Job Duties:
Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follow prescribed safety regulations.
Inventory cycle counts. Interact with production and sales personnel on daily basis.
Equipment Used:
Computer, scales, pallet jack and other tools required to complete job duties
Forklift experience would be helpful.
Qualifications:
Minimum of a high school education and two plus years of factory related experience in shipping and receiving. Required to read and write English, follow verbal instructions and use simple math.
Must have experience with UPS, FED-EX and DHL online software and must have experience with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
Physical Demands of Job:
Job typically includes sitting and standing, Lifting ability normally up to 50 lb.
