An upscale boutique bakery, located in the North Hills, is seeking a part-time professional cake decorator to join our dynamic team.This is an excellent opportunity to learn from one of Pittsburgh's premier cake designers, while working in a fun atmosphere at one of the fastest- growing specialty cake shops in the area!
We are currently seeking a motivated and creative individual with at least 3 years of professional cake decorating experience in a commercial bakery.Candidates should be knowledgeable in all aspects of wedding and event cake production; including the use of buttercream and fondant.
The ideal candidate will have the following skills and attributes:
* Excellent piping ability
* Good design and color sensibility
* Detail-oriented and well organized
* Ability to complete cake orders independently and as part of a team
* Ability to work in a deadline driven environmentwith minimal supervision
* Excellent communication skills
* Strong work ethic
* Knowledge of Allegheny County Health Department guidelines
* Previous art school training, including 3D sculpting and knowledge of Adobe Photoshop software is strongly desired.
Job duties include, but not limited to:
* Completing daily cake and cupcake orders
* Customer interaction, including cake consultations, as needed
* Answering phones as needed
* Operation of equipment, including mixers, sheeter, edible image printer
* Maintaining a clean and orderly work space
* Lifting 20-25lbs. as needed
We provide a flexible work schedule. 20-30 hours per week. No Sundays or Mondays.
