A Senior Reception Technician for CSL Plasma is responsible for greeting donors at the plasma collection center and conducting a series of registration procedures to qualify donors for the plasma pheresis process.

Main Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

In compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) schedules and registers qualified plasma donors. The registration procedures includes but are not limited to: presenting health related documents, answering questions, taking vital signs and simple medical procedures such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature. Also, maintains awareness to any reaction a donor may have during or after the pheresis process.

Educates new donors on the use of products made from donated plasma including: explaining the process, the tests performed, the appointment system, fees, center policies, proper nutrition and other information pertinent to the donor. Answers all donors' questions timely, accurately and professionally. Also, provides guidance and training about processes and procedures to staff.

Ensures the accurate and legible recording of patient data in charts, records and Donor Management System (DMS). Changes supply lot numbers in DMS when new lot numbers are introduced. Manages files, sets up and reviews donor record files, reviews donor reclassification requirements, resolves issues and archives files. Tracks and records data for specialty plasma programs.

Conducts calibration of equipment according to SOP and POP. Troubleshoots equipment failures and removes and/or replaces equipment.

Maintains clean and efficient work environment and ensures sufficient operating supplies are available. Follows all Health Safety and Environment policies and procedures. Maintains confidentiality of all personnel, donor and center information.

Qualifications and Experience Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Minimum of 18 months experience in a clerical or customer service related position, preferably in medical or health provider environment or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Must be able to perform basic math calculations and be proficient in the English language.

CPR certification or the ability to obtain certification preferred
