Purpose:
The Collision Repair Technician is responsible for performing vehicle repair and work as assigned in accordance with dealer and factory standards. S/he also will oversee the work of any apprentice technician assigned to him/her.


Duties and Responsibilities:

Demonstrate behaviors consistent with Company's Vision in all interactions with customers, co-workers and venders.
Repair vehicles per estimate, according to dealership and manufacturer standards.
Check parts against estimate and ensure proper parts are ordered and received.
Prepares vehicle for body repair work.
Notifies management of any difficulties or problems that may prevent a quality job from being performed or cause a change in the promise time.
Notifies management of any additional repairs needed. Document any additional parts and labor required to perform a satisfactory repair.
Road-test vehicles when required.
Supervise work of any apprentice technicians as assigned.
Cooperates and assist other personnel in the repair and prepping of vehicles.
Attend factory-sponsored training classes.
Ensure that customers' cars are kept clean.
Maintains and wears required safety and health personal equipment, including respirator, in the manner recommended by the equipment manufacturer.
Complies with all laws and regulations pertaining to paint, thinners and other hazardous materials
Keep shop area neat, clean, and be able to account for all dealership-owned tools at all times.
Understand and follow federal, state and local regulations, such as those governing the disposal of hazardous wastes.
Must comply with all company safety policies and procedures, hazardous waste disposal, OSHA Right-to-Know, etc., and immediately report any and all accidents to a manager or supervisor.
