Description
The Warehouse Supervisor will be responsible for supervising and coordinating activities of material handlers performing the following activities: picking, receiving, inventorying, paperwork processing, shipping, restocking and supporting material delivery and pickup from manufacturing.
Establish operational procedures for activities such as verification of incoming and outgoing shipments, handling and disposition of materials, and keeping warehouse inventory current
Direct the activities of warehouse leads and material handlers to accomplish plant goals
Confer with department heads to ensure coordination of warehouse functions with the activities of other departments such as buying, production, quality, and distribution
Organize workforce according to productivity requirements to obtain most effective utilization of resources
Manage capital expenditures to requisition and replacement of equipment and supplies
Train employees on company policies and procedures such as SOP’s (Standard Operating Procedures), Workplace Safety, PS (Process Specifications), QCP (Quality Control Procedures), etc.
Manage baling, recycling and seconds material
Conduct safety investigations regarding work related incidents and injuries
Review and resolve non-conformance and CAPAs (Corrective Action/Preventive Action) issued to warehouse by quality assurance
Analyze and communicate warehouse productivity and goals
Support company lean manufacturing objectives such as Kaizen, 5S, etc.
Run various reports using AS400, Catalyst and SAP to set productivity standards, resolve issues, and track process history
Qualification
BS/BA in related field preferred
At least 3 years proven warehouse supervisory experience and ability to effectively manage a staff of 20+ employees
Should possess a general concept of engineering processes, familiarity with warehouse equipment and have an intermediate working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook) SAP and AS400
Ability to manage warehouse staff and directly oversee all shifts by dividing/balancing time across multiple shifts and having flexibility to work off-shift hours, including nights and/or weekends
Ability to effectively conduct job performance reviews, recommending performance improvement plans where necessary and ability to establish and communicate department goals, objectives and processes with employees
Ability to communicate effectively at all levels within the organization and possess strong interpersonal skills
Strong ability to manage multiple tasks and work under pressure, possessing an exceptional sense of urgency
Ability to follow involved instructions, troubleshoot issues, schedule, organize, coordinate, train, and prepare operating procedures with minimal supervision.
Physical Requirements:
- Move product, supplies, and boxes up to and over 75 lbs.
- Sitting, standing, walking, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, handling, fingering, feeling, talking, hearing, visual acuity-near and far, depth perception, field of vision, color vision.
