About this job

I. Job Summary

Sets-up and operates a wide variety of equipment, such as scraper, dozer, excavator, front end loader, articulated haul truck, blade, conveyors, compressors, crushing equipment, loading trucks, scaling loads, and performs work per specifications. Assists the Environmental Remediation Division with daily jobs and tasks. This position consists of a variety of manual labor functions and duties. This position supports Environmental and Civil operations

II. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other minor duties may be assigned.

Operates equipment in compliance with the company operating procedure.

Verifies that equipment is in working order, e.g., tooling, safety mechanisms.

Moves and positions raw materials and finished components with use of material moving equipment.

Responsible for cleaning, maintaining and securing all equipment as directed by OSHA, directives, legislation, and company policies.

Follows Waste Management and customers HSE initiatives and policies.

Follows detailed job assignments and procedures with equipment operator to ensure understanding of job tasks.

Works in confined spaces

Attends and participates in all scheduled training programs, briefings, and meetings required by Waste Management or Manager.

Assist Operator with any tasks on or outside of the all Equipment.

Regularly checks equipment for problems and safety issues on an ongoing basis.

Performs general labor assignments on locations such as; connecting hoses, shoveling, sweeping, digging and cleaning on worksite locations

Maintains and repairs hoses, fittings, and other equipment.

Assist in cleaning and general upkeep of various worksites.

Supports other crewmembers as needed, ensure compliance with safety procedures, and other additional tasks as assigned.

Performs all duties as scheduled by Manager and assist other employees as directed to meet customer needs.

Perform duties under protective levels B, C, or D.(PPE)

IV. Qualifications

A. Education and Experience

Education: Not required.

Experience: No prior work experience required.

Preferred:

OSHA 40hr. HAZWOPER certification

OSHA 24hr. HAZWOPER certification

3 years of Heavy Equipment Operator experience

B. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations or Other Requirements

Driver License

C. Other Knowledge, Skills or Abilities Required

None required.
