RESPONSIBILITIES AND STANDARDS

Responsibility I - Front Desk:
1.1 Maintains reception area
1.2 Ensures all patients are greeted and checked in/out in an accurate and timely manner.
1.3 Ensures patients receive clear and legible HQMP required forms for completion.
1.4 Verifies all patients' insurance; obtains prior authorizations and referrals on-line or via phone.
1.5 Collect co-pays, co-insurance, and any outstanding balances.
1.6 Posts charges and payments. Enter information on Daily Close Report.
1.7 Ensures all postings and Daily Close Report are 100% accurate prior to submission to Billing Office.
1.8 Balances petty cash drawer with co-signature
1.9 Provides patient with necessary forms for completion and signatures, reviews for accuracy, enters data in EMR, and notifies clinical staff when patient is ready.
1.10Schedule patient appointments, revises schedules for cancellations, etc.
1.11Confirms next day appointments.
1.12Answers telephone, take messages, proper routing of calls/messages, retrieve messages from answering service.
1.13Prepares and process correspondence.
1.14Pull and file patient charts.
1.15Process medical record requests.
1.16Maintains filing, charting, faxing and all other clerical functions needed for the office.

Responsibility II - Paperwork Patient Visits/Surgical Procedures:
2.1 Obtains patient information.
2.2 Ensures that billing sheets are completed and tracked with office schedule.
2.3 Schedules necessary procedures, get authorizations, complete all required hospital forms.



Responsibility III - Assists Physician Appropriate to Specialty:
3.1 Return calls to patients as per physician's request.
3.2 Update and maintain physician schedule.
3.3 Assist physician with coordinating assistant surgeons as needed.

Responsibility IV - Correspondence/Office Lists:
4.1 Review disability and workman's compensation forms, populate appropriate demographic information, and obtain physician signature.
4.2 All other duties as assigned by Site Supervisor.

Responsibility V - General:
5.1 Maintains confidentiality of all employees and patients; reports violations to supervisor.
5.2 Attends and participates in all educational workshops as scheduled by HQMP.
5.3 Keeps in constant communication with supervisor.
5.4 Maintains professional working relationship with all staff.
5.5 Maintains working knowledge of corporate compliance issues, and safety issues.
5.6 Telephone communication is courteous and prompt.
5.7 As required, assigned to other HQMP locations for coverage purposes.

Responsibility VI - HQMP Standards:
6.1 Guest Relations: Demonstrates regard for the dignity and respect of all patients, family members, visitors, and hospital personnel as defined in the philosophy of Health Quest Medical Practice.
6.2 Promotes and contributes positively to intra-departmental and inter-departmental relationships with no more than two complaints in a six-month period.
6.3 Maintains the confidentiality of employees and department information no infractions.
6.4 Adheres to departmental dress code as observed by manager and wears picture identification badge, 100% of the time.
6.5 Demonstrates willingness to assist co-workers and/or to accept additional assignments as required to support the department's efficiency as observed by the manager.
6.6 Responds to all managers requested for information and assists in a timely and courteous manner.
6.7 Promotes a positive and pleasant atmosphere.
6.8 Adheres to the policies and procedures set forth by Health Quest.


Responsibility VI - HQMP Standards cont'd:
6.9 Demonstrates professional demeanor in appearance, interactions, attitude and conduct.
6.10 Maintains patient confidentiality and complies with HIPAA regulations and Patient Bill of Rights.
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma/GED.
1 year of healthcare experience
