3M is seeking a Value Stream Engineer for the Health Care Business Group, Drug Delivery Systems plant located in Northridge, CA. Be a part of what's next!
Job Summary :
The person hired for the position of Value Stream Engineer will identify, recommend, initiate and implement programs in manufacturing to improve and/or enhance: (1) product cost, service and quality and (2) process safety and health/environmental impact. Will provide primary product support for key customer product(s) and/or new product introduction (NPI) programs. Areas of responsibility will include both the Transdermal and Inhalation products mfg. at the Northridge facility.
Primary Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Provide main plant contact with customer(s)
- Complete Quality Incident Reports including CAPA's for manufacturing operation issues (RM's, filling, coating, converting and packaging)
- Develop and present annual product reviews for customer and regulatory inspections
- Through the 90 day VSIP identifies, recommend and lead teams to develop and implement programs to improve and/or enhance: (1) product cost, service and quality and (2) process safety and health environmental impact
- Develop project plans for NPI programs, product improvements and customer driven changes
- Author protocols and technical reports that meet pharmaceutical regulatory requirements
- Develop extensive lean six sigma (LSS) knowledge and techniques and run projects to improve manufacturing processes for the product lifecycle
- Identify and implement a comprehensive education plan to continually advance technical skills and personal development as well as enhancing organizational effectiveness. Establish self as a resource within immediate work group
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or higher in an engineering or technical discipline from an accredited university
- Previous engineering experience in a manufacturing facility
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or higher in an engineering discipline from an accredited university
- Three (3)+ years of engineering experience in a manufacturing facility
- Experience in a pharmaceutical manufacturing plant
- Experience with the application of standard principles, theories, concepts and techniques in the characterization of mechanical properties of mixing
- Experience with processing and characterization of organic films, templates and coating
- Experience leading engineering improvement projects
- Lean manufacturing knowledge
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to work in a team environment
