About this job

Assists in managing daily operations of the department. Administers and coordinates physical therapy treatments under the direction of the Licensed Physical Therapist to patients from all age groups in order to maximize their potential physical functioning. Contributes to the development of policies, setting of standards, and revision of procedures as needed. Works closely with the Licensed Physical Therapist and family members to assure achievement of goals and continuity of care. Provides documentation of patient progress, reassesses and adjusts treatments as needed upon consultation with the Licensed Physical Therapist. Supervises PT techs, PT students, and the department Secretary. Takes the lead in assuring there is continuous quality improvement involving all staff members. Primary duty of performing work requiring knowledge of an advanced type in a field of science or learning customarily acquired by a prolonged course of specialized intellectual instruction. Observes professional ethics in maintaining confidential information acquired regarding person, financial, medical or employment of patients, families, and employees of PCMC. Must follow and enforce accepted safety practices for patients and PCMC. Must report hazards and initiate appropriate action. Must participate in safety instructional programs. Education:

Graduate of an accredited technical college for Physical Therapy Assistants. Associates Degree Minimum. Oklahoma licensed. BLS/CPR

Experience:

Desirable characteristics include a proficiency in written and verbal communications, ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with the Licensed Physical Therapist, public, and preferably one-year experience as a staff physical therapist.

Skills:

PC skills or applicable computer experience.

Licenses/Certifications:

Oklahoma PTA License, BLS/CPR Certification
