Position DescriptionDiscover is Hiring immediately for a Business Analyst!This is a fulltime, direct hire position and would include the Discover benefits package. Our Benefits start DAY ONE of your employment!In this role the business analyst prepares reporting and analysis on expense control, operating performance, capacity planning, operating plan and forecasting functions, accounts payable functions, budgeting process, while also contributing to the overall management of the business unit.Core Responsibilities:1. Prepare budget, reports, and analysis daily, monthly and quarterly2. Review expenses and ensure proper controls are in place3. Reconcile monthly expenses4. Investigate monthly expenses inconsistencies5. Explain any inconsistencies to the finance, accounting, and/or center management groups6. Navigate all aspects of the Accounts Payable, Ariba, and ServiceNow systems7. Handle escalated invoice and payment issues through to resolution8. Fully understand cost center structure, to answer questions related to proper allocation.9. Fully understand gross-up criteria, to be able to answer questions for ad-hoc situations.10. Ensure adherence to company policy and procedure, which include Federal, State and Local regulations11. Monitor and track operating performance12. Provide analysis support and prepare management reports.13. Ensure handling of all workloads in a timely and professional manner14. Performs general administrative tasks15. Other duties as assignedEnhanced Responsibilities:1. Partner with business areas to create and implement frequent ad-hoc reporting according to center and department needs.2. Directly respond to requests and inquiries from business partners on more complex problems.3. Coordinate with other Operations Center personnel to resolve technical and data processing problems.4. Maintain accurate filing and control systems for center and department activities. Recommend and manage change to improve center and departmental productivity.5. Support the Budgeting and Forecasting process, partnering with Finance and other centers.

Qualifications

Associates or Undergrad required with preference given to degrees in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration
Professional experience with background in accounting and financial reports
Strong Microsoft Office skills required, Strong proficiency in Excel
SQL preferred but not required
Fluent verbal and written communication.
Must be task/project oriented.
Must be self-motivated and self-managed.
