POSITION PURPOSE
Home Depot Interiors is responsible for the Sales and Manufacturing of premium Kitchen and Bath remodeling products offered in over 45 major markets. The Packer is responsible for packing doors, drawer fronts, knick-knack and valances into boxes and cartons for shipping to customer's home or installation facility.

Must pass drug and background tests.

YEARS OF RELEVANT WORK EXPERIENCE -1
PHYSICAL JOB REQUIREMENTS
Must continuously stand or walk or regularly requires lifting/handling/carrying material or equipment of moderate weight (8-20 pounds).
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS
Must pass drug and background tests.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Prior HDI plant experience preferred. Experience working in packaging or inspection department of a manufacturing facility.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND COMPETENCIES
• Ability to read and comprehend instructions and paperwork/job orders. • Basic verbal and written communication skills required. • Basic mathematical skills. • Strong attention to detail. • Ability to stand, walk, use hands and fingers to maneuver jobs. Requires occasional stooping and kneeling. • Must be able to lift 50 pounds.

MAJOR TASKS, RESPONSIBILITIES AND KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Assemble packing boxes and shipping/packing materials. Line boxes with foam.
- Place items (doors, door fronts, knick-knack and valances) in boxes. Foam to be placed between each layer.
- Review job for color, pieces and defects.
- Verify job completeness by checking piece count on cart and match to corresponding paperwork.
- Place reference number inside the box lid and turn towards camera to create record. Place packing label on outside of box in designated area. Note number of boxes to complete the job.
- Stack boxes on skids and hand-truck skid and move to Shipping Department.
- General maintenance of packing equipment.
- Other job duties as assigned by manager.
NATURE AND SCOPE
Position Reports to: Shift Supervisor No direct responsibility for supervising others.
ENVIRONMENTAL JOB REQUIREMENTS
Typically in a comfortable environment but with regular exposure to factors such as temperature extremes, moving machinery, loud noise, and fumes which cause noticeable discomfort or a moderate risk of accident or illness.
