Below please find a brief description of the essential duties and responsibilities required to function successfully in this position.

SUMMARY
Responsible for managing remote production facilities and the technical management of on-site crews. The position is expected to troubleshoot and maintain remote broadcast equipment for Time Warner Cable SportsChannel under the direction of the Manager of Remote Engineering. The responsibility includes Remote Production Engineering, IT knowledge, transmission, and systems integrations skills. Ensures equipment and systems are optimally functioning, maintained, kept up to date and secured in a 24/7 Sports environment.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITESPrincipal leader for remote events with oversight and management of TWC-owned facilities (production trucks, trailers, and transmission vehicles) to ensure successful execution for live productionsOversees partner facilities engagement – including finalizing production logistics, vehicle placement, power management and interfacing with partner facilities management to ensure local guidelines and policies are maintainedManages the freelance and staff-based crews that utilize TWC-owned equipment and facilities to insure proper inventory controls are maintained as well as logs kept on variances and needed repairs.Leads maintenance and repair of dedicated broadcast hardware and computers including: Chryon, Grass Valley & Carbonite Switchers, EVS systems, Tightrope zplay, AJA Kipro, Sony, Ikegami, JVC & GV camera chains and lenses, audio boards, timeline based automation, FCP, and routing systems.System design and integration to include video path (HD-SDI, NTSC) audio path (Analog, digital and embedded), fiber linked systems (both video and audio), digital video compression and transmission standards (DV25, DV50, Mpeg, ATSC, ASI), Non-Linear editing stations, PC networking, and network storage systems.Maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of broadcast system equipment with includes: remote production trucks, production control rooms, edit suites, robotic camera controls, automation servers including computers and remote location master control equipment.Repair some equipment to the component level.Maintains a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a manner that works well with co-workers, supervisors, customers, and vendors.Works regularly with the IT to develop proficiency resolving engineering, transmission, and IT issues.Provide engineering support/feedback for remote operations as needed and assigned.· Operation of satellite uplink vehicleOther duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

· Minimum two year college degree in related discipline or equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience.
· At least 2 years experience in Broadcast Engineering or related field.
· Remote production engineering experience preferred.
· Broadcast equipment integration and repair experience preferred.
· Demonstrable PC/Mac networking experience or certification.
· Knowledge of OS Windows 7 workstations.
· Willing to be trained on IP Network related components.
· Must be able to work independently with limited direct supervision.
· Successful candidate will have the ability to travel, work weekends and multi-day events.
· Must have a valid driver’s license.
· Regularly required to stand; walk; stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
· Must frequently lift and/or move up to 70 pounds.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

· Travel and Engineering/IT Support required for all TWC Sports areas
· Successful candidate will have the ability to travel, work weekends and multi-day events

LEADERSHIP/STAFF ACCOUNTIBILITY

Hands-on role that may also lead, assign, train, schedule and oversee the work of others (primarily temporary labor).

WORKING CONDITIONS
Sitting and/or standing for extended periods of time.Overtime may be required in meet deadlines.Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and to handle other computer components.Provide on-call support 24 hours per day, 365 per year. Support may entail phone or physical presence at the facility for equipment failure or other disasters. This includes, but is not limited to UPS/LIPA failures, storms or severe weather, and loss of personnel.
