The Time Warner Cable office currently seeks a Sr. Lab Engineer, Arris for our Natl Network Ops & Eng Department
to support the day to day activities in our complex engineering lab. The Sr. Lab Engineer (Arris) will work closely with internal Engineering and Development teams as well as outside vendors to successfully integrate, manage, maintain and test all components of an Arris Digital Head End. This position is critical to the success of multiple groups and teams that utilize the Controller Systems Lab.

Position Summary

Duties include configuration, support, test and troubleshooting of Arris Environments. Supporting Time Warner Cable applications. Support for client code to digital Settop boxes. As well as administration and support of the digital headend systems, IP networks, Linux/Solaris servers, TVWorks, QAMs, SDV and encryption/DRM hardware.Document problem resolutions and communicate to internal and external customers.Execute test plans that included test use cases for product features
Responsible for preventive maintenance and repair of multiple RF plants including the trunk and distribution system. Perform routine maintenance and repairs while providing technical support for the resolution of service related problems.Also, will also be involved in other projects such as testing and integration of new products and system integration of new/existing products for the field.
Essential Job Functions:

Fully review release notes and other product documentation to understand or anticipate the impact to TWC systems
Prepare new controller products and releases for operational readiness
Help manage product roadmaps, schedules and vendor deliverables
Author test plans and use cases for feature testing
Guide the product through lab integration, QA testing and beta deployment
Provide SME support as needed to help field support staff to resolve complex issues
Work with vendors to troubleshoot complex field issues and to lab and beta test proposed fixes
Provide training documentation
Create requirements for Architecture team
Bridge the gaps between lab, QA support and deployment teams.
Collaborate with cross functional teams to resolve internal and external customer issues and be able to communicate well on status related to such collaborations. Make recommendations on solutions and or technical direction.

Job Requirements:
4+ years as Motorola/Arris DAC administrator.4+ years working with Motorola/Arris HeadendIncluding CASMR, DAC, RADD, RPD, OMs, NC, NE, QAMs, SDM, CPMS, CMTS, etc..DOCSIS 3.0 experience/knowledge is preferredLinux/Unix/Solaris administration is preferred.Above average networking skillsExperience with TVWorks a plusAbility to work effectively with-in a team environmentResolve critical and non-critical issues in a timely mannerWillingness to adapt quickly to changing situationsEffective written and verbal communication skillsPossess problem solving and critical thinking skillsAbility to manage priorities and time in a fast pace work environmentWork independently to consistently contribute to projects, but works closely with peers and senior level management as needed.
Preferred Qualifications:

Working knowledge of cable systems. This includes knowledge of cable head end operations and systems such as Video On Demand, Switched Digital Video, and Billing and Entitlement Systems.Experience with VMware solutions.Knowledge of CSG and ICOMS Billing Systems4+ years experience in a technical support environmentADSG
