The Time Warner Cable office currently seeks a Senior Software Engineer for our Technology and Network Operations Division. Below please find a brief description of the essential duties and responsibilities required to function successfully in this position.
Essential Skills:
Individual should have a broad technology background, with primary software development skills in Database technologies such as SQL, ETL, and Data Modeling. Background should include a solid understanding and exposure to schema development and optimization, data warehouse design and construction, as well as development of scalable, high performance data transfer mechanisms.
Solid experience in SQL tuning, stored procedure development, as well as development of materialized views, will be a prerequisite.
The ideal candidate will also have an understanding of server and network infrastructure, preferably in a software development context. Use cases such as automated provisioning, service level test and measurement, and triggering automated recovery actions are all applicable.
The position may include the mentoring of more junior developers, as well as daily interaction with management on progress, issues, and ideas.
Required Experience:Demonstrable software engineering expertise in Oracle SQL, ANSI SQLExpertise with ETL platforms, data transformation, data normalizationExperience in architecting large volume, diverse, multi-application systemsSkilled in creating technical designs for peer review, with detailed estimatesStrong Linux/UNIX experience, including shell scriptingStrong written and verbal skills
