Position Accountabilities:
Assures financial objectives are maximized, including: sales, payroll, and shrink by:
o Utilizing financial acumen to make sound and profitable decisions
o Identifying opportunities to develop disciplined processes for meeting objectives and maximizing productivity
Assures effective implementation and execution of company plans and strategies throughout assigned stores by:
o Communicating in a manner that ensures understanding and maximizes buy in
o Providing input to Regional Director Sales that will influence future plans and strategies based on objective analysis
o Channeling feedback through Regional Director Sales to respective functional departments for continuous improvement
o Collaborating with peers to achieve region-wide consistency across Districts
o Actively contributing within a high-performance culture
Assures a consistent in-store experience that supports the Brand and exceeds the Customer's expectations by:
o Ensuring store teams are consistently utilizing the company selling model to actively engage the customer and keep her connected to the brand
o Monitoring execution of consistent in-store visual standards
o Delivering consistent operations within all stores and channels
o Visiting stores to provide coaching and performance feedback that encourages growth and improved performance
o Delegating authority and trusting Stores Sales Managers to take appropriate risks
Assures success of each store within the district by:
o Attracting talent and selecting high caliber people of diverse cultures, backgrounds and experiences from both inside and outside of the organization
o Assessing talent and ensuring viable succession plans are in place
o Modeling desired behavior and acting on developmental opportunities
o Performing regular analysis and taking appropriate action
o Creating a professional culture where associates' contributions are valued, respected, and appreciated
Assures responsibility in maintaining timeliness of all facets of Store Operations by:
o Communicating Loss Prevention Policies and Procedures
o Implementing the Store Leadership Responsibilities to support all store functions
o Adhering to all Budgets and partnering on changes proactively
o Creating plans to effectively manage workload and ensure execution
o Demonstrating fiscal responsibility
o Communicating and partnering with Regional Director Sales on real estate opportunities
o Monitoring competition and communicating activity to Regional Director Sales
o Executing all Actionable items in a timely manner
Position Specifications:
* Conducts daily, weekly, and monthly reviews of district and regional sales performances and expense controls
* Communicates regularly with field management on performance results and remedial actions needed
* Identifies and communicates best practices to the field organization that create a focus on sales and on building customer relationships
* Travels to stores regularly to evaluate the effectiveness of sales execution, identify growth opportunities and make recommendations for changes that will grow individual businesses, as well as districts and regions
* Ensures visual merchandising standards are effectively implemented and maintained
* Travels to Headquarters as needed
* Partners with Senior Vice President, Stores and Merchandise Planning to assure accurate identification and representation of Store needs to Headquarters team members
* Provides for collaborative learning opportunities through cross-functional travel as well as involvement with Caleres initiatives
Educational Preference: Bachelor's degree preferred
Experience Preference: 5-7 years multi-unit retail management experience
Required Skills: Microsoft Office, POS
Travel Required: Frequent 50%+
