Florida Hospital Tampa, located across from the University of South Florida, is a 475-bed hospital that provides strategic medical care through the development of specialized Centers of Excellence that focus resources on major disease areas, including cardiovascular care, women's services, cancer treatment, pediatrics, orthopaedics and diabetes management. In addition, we offer several specialized service units, including intensive care, pediatric/neonatal intensive care, rehabilitation, continuing care and general surgery as well as a 24-hour emergency department with dedicated treatment facilities for chest pain, pediatrics and minor care.

Job Summary:

The Endoscopy department at Florida Hospital Tampa consists of 10 pre and post-operative bays and 3 procedure rooms to care for all phases of surgery including pre-procedure, intra-operative endoscopy and post-op recovery.

The Registered Nurse provides self-directed, effective nursing care to groups of patients in accordance with Division of Nursing standards and pursuant to Florida Department of Professional Regulation, Chapter 464.003 (3) (a): "Practice of professional nursing means the performance of those acts requiring substantial specialized knowledge, judgment, and nursing skill based upon applied practices of psychological, biological, physical, and social sciences which shall include, but not limited to:

1. The observation, assessment, nursing diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation of care; health teaching and counseling of the ill, injured or infirmed; and the

promotion of wellness, maintenance of health and prevention of illness and others.

2. The administration of medication and treatments as prescribed or authorized by a duly licensed practitioner authorized by the laws of this state to prescribe such

medications and treatments.

3. The supervision and teaching of other personnel in the theory and performance of any of the above acts."

Requirements:

1. Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing, ADN enrolled in an accredited BSN program, or BSN required

2. Current registration with Florida State Board of Nursing as a registered professional nurse or licensure from another state with verification of application and eligibility for Florida licensure by endorsement

3. Valid American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, AHA Advanced Life Support (ACLS) certification and AHA Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification required

4. 1 year Gastro Intestinal/Pulmonary RN experience preferred

5. Critical Care RN experience is a plus

6. SGNA certification is a plus
