Spa Services Manager
The Spa Services Manager as guided by the Director, Spa Operations will establish and maintain the standards of the Spa etiquette and service in all interactions with guests and staff. Consistency and understanding when implementing the Spa and the Fairmont business objectives, as they relate to operations, finance, human resources, marketing and health & safety is imperative. Executing the business objectives and verbiage to all employees is ongoing, whilst also ensuring that all financial, operations, and marketing opportunities are maximized in alignment with the Spa & Fairmont goals.
Hotel Overview: Born of a golden era, the history of The Claremont dates back to the early days of the Gold Rush, when a Kansas farmer by the name of Bill Thornburg "struck it rich". The Claremont boasts an award winning Spa & The Club at The Claremont.
Summary of Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Director, Spa Operations, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:
Oversee daily operations of the spa and salon facilities with emphasis on guest services, sanitation, safety, fiscal responsibility (i.e. staffing, payroll, expenses and revenue generation), staffing guidance and support to ensure maximum operational efficiencies to support Spa Claremont and Fairmont goals
Responsible for all operational activities and issues on a daily basis
Will be accountable for training and development of all support staff including desk colleagues, attendants and reservationists
Maintain supervisor and line-employee development programs that encourage continuing education, internal promotions and professional development
Implement operational standard operating procedures for both the spa and fitness facilities to encourage standard practices and operational efficiencies
Support spa reservations and operational areas to ensure maximum yield and labor efficiency
Accommodate VIP guest preferences and special requests through the assignment of operational tasks to spa and fitness staff
Maintain warrantees and service agreements on all operating equipment and work with engineering to resolve any malfunctions and initiate repair
Review hotel occupancy forecasts and all weekly spa schedules anticipating labor
Practice a "clean as you go" approach to work areas
Handle emergency situations with urgency and discretion
Assign job tasks to spa personnel as suited to their position and ability
Check that all areas of the spa are set as per the standard operating manual
Ensure professional par levels are maintained and products are available in treatment rooms, etc. as needed by staff
Evaluate operations and procedures and implement improvements in conjunction with the Managing Director
Other duties as assigned Qualifications:
Previous spa and/or hotel experience preferred
College degree preferred
Preferably two years' supervisory experience in a business setting
Knowledge of the Spa Soft system
Three-years customer service related experience required
Friendly, energetic, dependable and customer oriented.
Must be very detail oriented
Ability to work with a variety of staff and management in a cooperative manner
Skills to handle multiple projects simultaneously
Adhere to Fairmont Appearance and Grooming Standards
