Job Description & Program Overview
As an active team member in Public Finance, Summer Associates assist bankers in capital raising and strategic advisory transactions for governmental, not-for-profit and/or developer clients. Your responsibilities as a Summer Associates may include:
Develop and maintain financial cash flow models, using proprietary and industry standard software
Support various financial analyses, including bond structuring
Perform comprehensive and in-depth client and credit research
Prepare presentation and other materials for clients
Communicate and interact with deal team members
Candidates are required to be pursuing an MBA degree from an accredited university with a graduation timeframe between December 2016 and June 2017
Candidates must demonstrate a strong interest in finance and the public sector and a combination of academic aptitude, quantitative skills, strategic and creative thinking and distinguished written and oral communications skills
Associates are required to manage several projects at once and work effectively as an individual and as part of a team
Some common driving characteristics we look for include: assertiveness, attention to detail, exceptional academic achievement, initiative, team focus, self-confidence, strategic and creative thinking capabilities, strong work ethic, and strong communication skills
Strong quantitative skills and a working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word and PowerPoint) are a must
A background in Finance, Accounting, Math or Engineering preferred as well as a demonstrated interest in or prior work in the municipal sector
