As a Division Clerk/Nursing Assistant you are responsible for assisting the nursing staff in the daily operations and organization of the specific nursing unit. Under supervision and guidance of the Registered Nurse, the Division Clerk/Nursing Assistant will uphold the policies and procedures set forth by Gateway Medical Center. The Division Clerk/Nursing Assistant must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills to provide assistance appropriate to the age of the patient served. As a Division Clerk/Nursing Assistant, you are responsible to provide daily services involving basic care for patients as well as other assigned unit duties. You must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills to provide care appropriate to the age of the patient served. While maintaining patient/customer confidentiality, the Division Clerk/Nursing Assistant promotes good public relations and applies and implements the philosophy, goals and objectives of Gateway Medical Center. Education / License / Certification:
High school diploma or equivalent
Completion of state approved nursing assistant competency program or completed junior year in an NLN approved school of nursing
Completion of certification examination for nursing assistant
Medical terminology preferred
Clerical and computer experience preferred
BLS certification
Experience / Skills:
Must be able to respond mentally, physically and appropriately to emergency situations
Must be able to work in a fast-paced, ever changing, stressful environment
Normal patient care environment which requires close concentration and attention to detail
