Description

This position is responsible for delivering a legendary guest experience in both retail and salon. This includes maintaining a high-energy, positive environment, where behaviors that support guest-centric service are consistently demonstrated. The Associate Manager helps drive store performance, fosters superior guest service, and maintains operational excellence to meet or exceed established budgeted sales, control expenses, and achieve productivity goals. This individual will manage and supervise individuals in one or more of the following roles: prestige manager, prestige associate, merchandise and service coordinator, lead cashier, and store associate. The Associate Manager fosters a sense of urgency to achieve objectives and holds people accountable. S/he effectively plans work and makes decisions to achieve company targets, and demonstrates the highest level of professionalism when interacting with internal and external guests.

Promotes and models legendary service; creates a culture of hospitality in the store and salon Understands, manages and executes the GEM Program in accordance with company standards Builds success through the development and optimization of people Recruits and retains top talent Establishes clear goals and objectives to focus the team on achieving superior results Provides coaching, training, and feedback to improve associates' performance on a daily basis Manages sales floor and drives retail and salon sales by addressing guest concerns, coaching associates, and maintaining loss prevention guidelines Communicates corporate directives on a daily basis Tracks, analyzes, and leverages NPS results and guest comments to reinforce desired behaviors act upon opportunities for improvement Demonstrates knowledge and passion for company products and services Addresses all guest concerns and questions promptly and with professionalism Schedules staff effectively in consideration of store traffic and key store initiatives, using current scheduling tools Recruits, interviews, and hires non-management staff in accordance with company hiring policies and procedures, and using an online application tool Supervises the management of the POS system and approves all cash wrap management, cash auditing, and tip reporting Ensures all company policies, standards, and procedures are consistently followed Promotes company sales and loyalty programs to meet or exceed goals in support of company initiatives and brand standards In the absence of general manager, facilitates and leads non-management new hire orientation, all store internal and external sales and product training and education, and oversees the completion of learning maps Maintains accountability for sales floor leadership, using key business and financial indicators to monitor individual and team progress Maintains accountability for analysis of sales and operational compliance Ensures maintenance of store including cleanliness and overall esthetics Protects assets of Ulta through guest service and operational processes, inclusive of all loss prevention audit criteria and sales floor leadership Manages the load process and backroom activities/organization

Minimum Requirements

Experience we are looking for...

Associates degree, 2 years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience 2 yrs. of progressively responsible retail environment experience; supervisory experience is preferred Demonstrated competency in sales, products, and service Proven ability to recruit, assess, train, develop, and promote employees Proven ability to build, develop, motivate, and lead diverse teams Knowledge of retail merchandising practices Strong communication, problem-solving, time management, prioritization, and organization skills, as well as the ability to work in a fast paced environment

Flexibility with scheduling is required On a regular basis, requires the ability to walk, reach with hands and arms, stand for a minimum of 6--8 hours, and lift and/or move 50 lbs. On a frequent basis, requires the ability to stoop, kneel, and crouch On an occasional basis, requires the ability to climb a ladder and maintain balance
