POSITION PURPOSE
-

We are searching for a technical leader who can help us plot the direction and implement ambitious, bold improvements for our desktop platform. Your experience working with the Windows platform, Active Directory, System Center, security, and software distribution will help us deliver on that direction.


MAJOR TASKS, RESPONSIBILITIES AND KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES -
Lead design, development, and deployment of technical and application solutions to meet business requirements that are cost effective and sustainable. Deliver conceptual, logical, and physical solution specifications.

Translate business requirements using complex methods and models to determine appropriate system solutions.

Provide input into annual budget planning for technology migrations and project cost estimation.

Research, identify, test, certify, and select technology products required for solution delivery.

Establish and implement technology migration strategies for a specific application or architecture within an IT portfolio.

Lead technology review meetings and ensure appropriate governance processes are followed.

NATURE AND SCOPE -
Typically reports to Senior Architect, Senior Manager, or Director

No associates report to this role on a permanent basis, but requires the leadership of a work group: assign and review work, train and contribute to performance appraisal (but not hiring, firing or disciplinary action).

ENVIRONMENTAL JOB REQUIREMENTS -
• Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.
• Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS -
• Must be eighteen years of age or older.
• Must pass the Drug Test.
• Must successfully complete any required training or orientation courses

EDUCATION REQUIRED -
The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a bachelor's degree program or equivalent degree in a field of study related to the job.

YEARS OF RELEVANT WORK EXPERIENCE - 9

PHYSICAL JOB REQUIREMENTS -
Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS -

* Deep experience with the Windows platform, including Windows XP through 8, Windows Server 2003 and above, with examples of managing and securing >10,000 systems.
* You have 5+ years’ experience in the design and management of System Center Configuration Manager, including examples managing a highly distributed PC and server infrastructure, implementing policies and procedures for efficient operation, and troubleshooting complex client issues.
* You embrace being a tier-4 support engineer, with deep knowledge of Active Directory and System Center Configuration Manager.
* You have examples managing a large, distributed Active Directory environment, including domain controller design, private key infrastructure, and complex role delegation for least privileged access.
* You are comfortable examining new ideas, directions, tools, and technologies to improve the efficiency, security, and performance of the Windows platform.
* A common vision for our platform is key. You will build strategic plans and drive collaboration and innovation across teams to achieve the long-term goals you have set.
* You take ownership of implementations, including developing documentation and acceptance testing processes.
* Passion is required. You continuously research, evaluate, and recommend current and emerging tools, techniques, and technologies related to our platforms.
* You use your experience to assist hands-on by responding to, analyzing, and troubleshooting issues escalated from the Help Desk, desktop support, and remote support teams.
* You know how to adapt to changing priorities and conditions in a fast-paced company. You can make sound decisions in the face of ambiguity or conflict.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND COMPETENCIES -
Expert technical proficiency in one or more of the following: Retail applications, Windows platform, UNIX platforms

Comprehensive understanding of systems, applications, and/or networks so that practical solutions can be provided that factor system performance, usability, quality, cross-system interdependencies, scalability, and overall cost to develop and maintain.

Strong problem solving and analytical skills.

Strong oral and written communications skills.
