Sodexo is seeking an entry level Food Service Manager for our newest Campus account in Oregon, Eastern Oregon University - a small state college in scenic north eastern OR of LeGrand. Food service operations includes growing residential dining and retail dining programs, catering services and a robust summer conference program - campus population approximately 1000, with 250 boarding meal plans. There is a high level of expectation in maintaining professional image of front of house services which includes staff presentation (cashiers, dining room attendants), dining room sanitation, product description signage maintained and updated at all times, electronic menu boards properly displayed, etc..

Reporting to the General Manager - the ideal candidate will:

Be well versed in food service, Front of the House -- including providing excellent customer service in a very fast paced, high volume restaurant environment. Have strong employee engagement -- developing, mentoring, training as well as scheduling for Front of the House and Back of the House staff. Have previous supervisory experience with Food Retail concepts -- restaurant or fast food concepts or resident dining. Enjoy becoming involved in the campus community , have strengths in relationships with clients, customers, and employees. Have Marketing ability -- to develop strategies for resident dining -- theme nights, specials, etc.

Position Summary

Responsible for managing multi-functional food service areas in a single unit. May assume General Manager's (GM) responsibilities and authority in his/her absence. Assists in maintenance of cash control and payroll records. Assists in supporting the financial/Human Resources (HR) functions. Maintains customer satisfaction and good public relations.

Qualifications & Requirements

Basic Education Requirement - High School Diploma or GED

Basic Functional Experience - 1 year work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts, etc.

Sodexo will require a background check and may require a drug screen for this position.
