Database Project Manager Job - Full-time / Part-time

What You'll Be Doing:

- Manage Database Projects.
- Responsible for the planning, organizing, and management of complex projects and resources to bring about the successful completion of project goals and objectives.
- Identification of project objectives and goals, planning the work according to the objectives,
- Assessing and controlling project risks, estimating resource requirements, allocating resources, organizing the work, assigning tasks,
- Directing activities, tracking and reporting progress, managing and resolving project issues, identifying, managing project changes, communicating project status and issues to all stakeholders, and successfully completing project within time constraints.
- Tracking and Managing Capacity planning projects
- Develop and manage project plan, tasks, timelines, milestones and deadlines
- Coordinate work with cross-functional teams
- Monitor and report on project status and issues
- Assign tasks to staff and supervise work
- Coordinate and respond to client issues
- Develop and manage effectiveness and efficiency of internal process and procedures
- Manage change management process for deployments

What You Need to Bring to the Table:

- Two (2) years technical project management experience
- One to two (1-2) years experience leading a team of techincal resoruces
- At least 5 years experience in leading implementation projects like datacenter build outs, major hardware upgrades, new product rollout, database upgrades
- Knowledge of ITIL methodology (Change management, release planning, etc)
- Two (2) years technical documentation experience
- Ability to mentor/guide staff members
- Must have five to eight (5-8) years of hands on experience in unix systems, databases, data center Projects
- Database background is a plus
- Linux Administration and Java Application triage
- Tomcat or JBoss administration
- Scripting (shell, bash, perl, etc.)
- Java/J2EE administration (not mandatory)
- Linux Certification (not mandatory)
- Bachelor or Master Degree in Technology
