Installation Technician

Edstrom Industries designs, develops, manufactures and installs automated water feeding systems for animal testing facilities nationwide. When a new pharmaceutical drug is being developed, leading scientists test these drugs on animals. At these testing facilities are Edstrom?s water systems making sure the animals have water when needed. Edstrom?s products include water purification systems, vivarium management software and hardware, and preventive maintenance service.

This position is for a Service Technician that will be responsible for installing and troubleshooting the product at the customer site.

The position requires skills in electrical and mechanical applications.

Required Qualifications:

- 1+ year recent experience traveling over 50% of the time for job
- 2+ years of recent working experience in a mechanical or electrical system installation role
- 2+ years reading blueprints and schematics
- 2+ years interfacing with customers

Backgrounds that have worked out well for Edstrom:
- Plumbing
- Apprenticeship as Electrician
- Technicians that have worked for Xerox
- Controls Technician
- Refrigerator Technician

Edstrom purchases the plane tickets for the Service Technicians and reimburses employees weekly for food (up to $45/day) and lodging (based on which state they are staying in).

Edstrom also uses an expense report to reimburse Employees weekly for car rentals.
Background:
1.) American Background check that includes verification of clean driving record.
2.) Drug Test
3.) Credit Check - Candidates must have a credit card that can support business related expenses. Edstrom reimburses candidates 1-3 weeks after an expense is incurred so if a candidate can't book a hotel, car rental and purchase food on their own for 1-3 weeks they will not be a fit.
3.) TB (tuberculosis test).
