Chemistry Research Associate - Full-time / Part-time

The successful candidate will design and synthesize potential drug candidate molecules directed towards serine hydrolases, ultimately for human testing. This chemist will optimize for activity using medicinal chemistry paradigms working closely with our biologists. In this role, the successful candidate will use organic chemistry techniques to synthesize compounds and chromatographic techniques for purification. The chemist will perform work independently, use databases and information tools to keep abreast of the medicinal chemistry field of interest and contribute to patent applications and publications. The successful candidate will also propose and perform independent research directed toward drug discovery.

Experience and education requirements
* BS or MS in Organic Chemistry with 3-5 years of research experience
* Experience in organic syntheses; experience with medicinal chemistry preferred
* Experience with purification of organic compounds
* Experience with NMR and MS for structure elucidation and confirmation
* Excellent oral and written communication skills
* Strong presentation skills
* Outstanding problem solving skills, troubleshooting skills and organization skills
* Proficient with computers and software such as ChemDraw, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint
* Both effective team player and strong individual contributor, flexible, and able to handle multiple tasks and deliver high quality results under tight timelines
