Material Control Expediter
The Material Control Expeditor will coordinate and expedite the flow of work and materials within production department, pick and load customer orders, receive product from production, receive materials from vendors, receive bulk materials from rail and tanker trucks and load or unload pallets from shuttles. Scheduled duties include reviewing and distributing production, work, and shipment schedules; compiling reports of progress of work, inventory levels, costs, and production problems. Works with the production team to ensure the timely and accurate movement and transport of materials to and from the warehouse for use in the production areas.

Position Shift and Schedule

This is a full time permanent position on our 2nd or 3 rd shift. The 2nd shift typically starts any time between 1:00pm and 5:00pm based on business needs and the shift duration is typically between 8 and 10 hours also depending on business needs. 3 rd shift typically runs from 9:00pm -5:00am. Flexibility to work overtime and weekends is required.

Position Responsibilities

1. Works with production team lead to coordinate the flow of materials into the production area. Prepare necessary paperwork.
2. Reviews order requirements and accurately transfers the required quantities to line side.
3. Records movement of materials in SAP as the physical movements take place.
4. Verifies that all materials for the order are available at line side, creates the Process Industry (PI) sheet, and informs the production operator that production may begin.
5. Confers with production operator to coordinate the flow of materials out of the production area.
6. Verifies the quantity of unused materials being returned by accurately weighing or counting.
7. Works with production operators and lead to reconcile inventory discrepancies, identifies the reason for the discrepancy, and clears remnant inventory from line side.
8. Verifies all product received is accurate and put-a-way or shuttle loaded correctly, pick and load customer orders timely and accurate.
9. Proactively identifies and communicates inventory discrepancies to the Inventory Controlling or Production groups for correction.
10. Loads and unloads bulk rail cars by connecting hoses and pumps to move product into housing silos.

Qualifications

Qualifications

• High school diploma or general equivalency diploma (GED)
• Push and pull up to 50 pounds repeatedly
• 2 years of forklift experience
• 2 years’ experience working with an SAP system or any other warehouse management system.
