As Aaron's Chief Compliance Officer, you will be responsible for Compliance covering all lines of business. The Compliance Team will be based in Atlanta and Salt Lake City. Some travel is required. Job Duties Providing reasonable assurance to Senior Management and the Board of Directors that there are effective and efficient policies and procedures in place, well understood and respected by all employees, and that the company is complying with all regulatory requirements. Establishing standards and implementing procedures to ensure that the compliance programs throughout the organization are effective and efficient in identifying, preventing, detecting and correcting noncompliance with applicable rules and regulations. Overseeing and monitoring the implementation of the compliance program. Developing policies and programs that encourage managers and employees to report suspected fraud and other improprieties without fear of retaliation. Reporting on a regular basis on the progress of implementation, and assisting these components in establishing methods to improve efficiency and quality of services, and to reduce the vulnerability to fraud, abuse, and waste. Independently investigating and acting on matters related to compliance, including the flexibility to design and coordinate internal investigations (e.g., responding to reports of problems, 'hot-line' calls, or suspected violations) and any resulting corrective actions. Develops, initiates, maintains, and revises policies and procedures for the general operation of the Compliance Program and its related activities to ensure compliance with all applicable regulations and laws. Manages day-to-day operation of the Program. Identifies potential areas of compliance vulnerability and risk; develops/implements corrective action plans for resolution of problematic issues, and provides general guidance on how to avoid or deal with similar situations in the future. Interfaces with multiple functional areas to develop and implement globally scalable compliance systems and controls. Monitors compliance on an ongoing basis and providing ongoing advice, resolve escalations, and course correction to functional leaders and Board of Directors. Provides periodic thorough reporting to service managers and senior company managers on the state of our compliance efforts. Maintains records, perform filing, and provide reporting to regulatory agencies as required by law. Monitors changes in industry regulations and modify policies, procedures and systems as necessary. Implements global policies and procedures in compliance with State and Federal regulations impacting the Rent-to-Own industry. Oversees and responds to regulatory exams and investigations. Develops regulatory training and ensures it is regularly conducted.
