Summary
The Logistics Administrator is responsible for preparing customs documentation and ensuring that shipments meet all applicable laws to facilitate the import of goods as well as clearing all goods through customs. Responsibilities include monitoring and tracking goods, arranging for transportation of goods, building relationships with local Customs. Ensure compliance with Customs regulations in all our operations and process vendors’ claims. Also support the Director of Logistics, Regional Logistics Managers and Warehouse Managers.
Essential Functions
• Prepare and process import and export documentation according to customs regulations, laws, and procedures.
• Clear goods through customs and to their destinations
• Monitor and track the location of goods
• Arrange for transportation of goods
• Maintain relationships with customs brokers in other ports to expedite clearing of cargo
• Process and communicate vendor claims
• Provide support to the Director of Logistics and the Regional Logistics Manager
• Provide support to the Warehouse Manager’s on customs and claims issues Basic Qualifications
• Requires a High School diploma or GED certificate
• Requires a minimum of 6 months supervisory/lead experience
• Requires the ability to speak, read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence, and policy documents, as well as converse comfortably with subordinates, vendors and management
• Experience in Customs warehouse entries
• A leader who works collaboratively with cross functional teams
• Requires excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills
• Possesses the ability to work independently and without continuous direction
• Requires excellent time management skills
