Quality Engineer - Full-time / Part-time

Overview

The Quality Engineer is responsible for troubleshooting manufacturing processes to improve and correct quality issues. Additionally, the position will be responsible for customer interface on quality topics.

Core Responsibilities

• Work with manufacturing engineers to improve process capabilities
• Develop and implement SPC and other statistical tools in the manufacturing area
• Development of control plans, inspection instructions, PFMEA's and process flow diagrams.
• Assist in APQP, PPAP submittals.
• Develop, coordinate and track the implementation of 8D reports.
• Participate in Continuous Improvement activities (i.e. Scrap Reduction, Cost Reduction, Improved Efficiencies, etc.)
• Develop, conduct and/or coordinate quality related training programs.

Qualifications:

• Minimum 5 years working experience in a related field.
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering with extensive knowledge in all automotive quality management tools and standards (APQP, AIAG Requirements, Six Sigma, ISO / TS 16949, Statistics, SPC and Capability Indices)
• Must have experience working in an automotive environment
• Strong working knowledge of Process Flow Charts, FMEA's, and Control Plans
• Experience with 8D problem solving techniques (Is/Is not, Ishikawa diagram, 5 Why) including the use of D.O.E.
