About this job

Primary Responsibilities:

Identifies and implements procedures, technologies, systems, programs that contribute towards the increased effectiveness and efficiency of the pharmacy program
Develops and implements at the health plan(s) clinical and utilization management programs, and the standard pharmacy benefit to meet regulatory requirements
Communicates and reports to assigned health plan and medical management the results of analyses and provide guidance in the development of budgets
Develops and coordinates a plan for regular and effective communication with the designated state departments and representatives of the assigned health plans
Prepares and presents information for the pharmacy components of state, operational, peer review and consulting organization audits
Responsible for the timely submission of accurate pharmacy reports and deliverables required of the health plan in their contract with the state
Supports the assigned health plans Grievances Department in the processing of grievances, appeals, fair hearings, etc., as defined by the health plans process to ensure a timely decision by the plan Medical Director
Participates and contributes to the assigned health plans and/or regional committees, such as Quality Management and Service Improvement
Supports assigned health plans Health Services, Case Management and Behavioral Health areas regarding targeted members with specific pharmacy concerns
Communicates pharmacy program changes with the assigned health plans key departments, such as Health Services, Member Services, Customer Services, Medical and Network Management
Develops and administers assigned health plans pharmacy department objectives, operating policies and procedures, budget and strategic action plans for achieving goals

Requirements

Required Qualifications:

BS in Pharmacy or Pharm D degree  
Current, unrestricted Pharmacist license in the state of Washington
3 or more years clinical Pharmacy experience
Proficiency in software applications that include, but are not limited to, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
Preferred Qualifications:

1 year experience in an insurance company or Pharmacist Benefits Manager (PBM) setting
