About this job

A successful candidate will support the accounting team in the following:

Input new employees (field and management) into computer system (including any changes or updates to current employee's set up)
Process E-verifies within timely manner
Sets up weekly pay periods to properly expense the correct month for ledger updates; standard hours, days, and weeks; and pay period status information.
Analyzes, prepares, inputs and edits payroll data
Pull electronic time cards, analyze, make changes and edit for completeness and accuracy
Print and properly distribute direct deposits and pay checks to proper jobsites/project coordinators
Balance direct deposit
Post payroll daily to general ledger
Complete layoff check and/or field checks at jobsites request
Process Voids timely and accurately
Investigate and resolves payroll issues relating to pay, benefits, and tax
Responds to request for employment verifications, wage verification, etc.
Reconciles wage garnishments and child support deductions
Processes payment of garnishments and child support to proper companies
Complete wage request(s) generating fully burdened labor cost for union workforce relative to the type of job and duration
Sets up wage and benefits for new unions within ViewPoint database
Maintains database with any changes in wage and benefit calculations
Analyzes and reconciles union benefits on a monthly basis
Processes payment of union benefits on a monthly basis
Problem solves union discrepancies
Maintains electronic union contract files and other correspondence
Facilitates union audits
Complete monthly Employment Report for US Bureau of Labor Statistics
Process job initializations establishing new jobs and payroll related information
Distribute Weekly Overtime/Extra Time Report for Field payroll
Distribute Monthly Overtime/Extra Time report for Management Payroll
Performs other related administrative duties as required


Requirements

A qualified candidate will have a "can-do" attitude and possess:
5 years of multi-state payroll experience, union administration a plus
Strong organizational, interpersonal and communication skills
The ability to process payroll for up to 800+ employees.
A strong proficiency in using spreadsheet software such as Excel and comfortable with computers and automated systems
Accurate and efficient in data entry
