Position Summary:

This is an Operations position responsible for assisting with the administrative functions of the Operations Department by performing secretarial and clerical functions, helping plan the routing schedule of delivery trucks, coordinating back-hauls, and performing dispatch and other related duties as required.

This position is located at 12500 Sysco Way, Medley FL 33178.

Responsibilities:

General knowledge of the rules of effective English usage, including subject/verb agreement, tenses, and basic grammar. Knowledge of spread sheet programs and applications, the SYSCO voice mail system and microfilming processes. Ability to plan and organize your own and your department's work activities. Ability to analyze and disseminate forms; manage work time efficiently; follow procedures and policies; identify and solve problems; maintain a file system to include alphabetical, numerical, and chronological filing activities. Ability to type 60+ words per minute. Trained and proficient in, Excel, Microsoft Word, Power Point, Publisher and Adobe. Essential Duties:

Contacts Delivery Associates and vendors for the purpose of ensuring that schedules are being met for pick-up and deliveries and to verify costs on preceding shipments; requests a copy of carrier manifest and bill of lading to provide accurate information for planning and evaluation activities. Contacts vendors, carriers, merchandisers, and operations to coordinate pick-up and delivery appointments for all in-bound products. Arranges transportation for emergency or local pick-ups to enhance customer satisfaction. Make sure drivers are in compliance with the DOT rules to reduce excessively long work hours that increase both the risk of fatigue-related crashes and long-term health problems for drivers. Enters data and transcribes information, as business needs dictate, from various sources, target tracking and other applicable computer programs. Track proof of performance and volume incentives, monitors and enters received ledger monies to provide accurate information for planning and evaluation activities. Processes forms and maintains records related to SYSCO operations and to administrative details including office supplies, personnel, and payroll, to provide accurate information for planning and evaluation activities. Reviews forms, reports, bills, or vouchers, to ensure accuracy and completeness. Notifies Vice President and/or Manager of questionable items or irregularities. Types, according to business schedule, a variety of letters, documents and reports that periodically contain statistical or other technical terminology requiring accuracy and precision, including but not limited to confidential material. Insures drivers daily logs and hours of service complies with DOT regulations Answers phones, routes calls, takes messages and schedules appointments to ensure that proper and timely action is taken on the caller's needs. Consistently monitors the STS program for driver's activities: Scan %, Pre and Post trips, delivery reports etc. Makes appropriate changes or corrections in grammar, punctuation and spelling on departmental correspondence to increase the effectiveness of said correspondence. Opens sorts and distributes incoming mail as needed.

Qualifications:
