Job Summary: The Terrain Park Grooming Supervisor will assist the Terrain Park Manager in the overall delivery of the Terrain Park experience for our employees and guests. This individual is responsible for the supervision, training, scheduling, and motivation of the grooming team. The grooming supervisor must fully comprehend and express project management, ranging from phases of planning to final project execution. The Supervisor will be responsible for implementing operator safety and other training programs. The Terrain Park grooming Supervisor will assist in carrying out all guest service, operational, and financial goals and objectives set forth by the Terrain Park Manager, the Terrain Park Best Practices group, and upper management.

Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
  • Ability to operate all grooming equipment and components
  • Ability to construct and maintain any and all types of terrain park/halfpipe features
  • Training/coaching/supervising/leading of Terrain Park grooming operators
  • Organize and conduct weekly safety meetings as well as specific operational and situational Equipment trainings
  • Lead the grooming staff through the efficient completion of general park maintenance, terrain park/halfpipe builds and maintenance, and Big Easy builds and maintenance
  • Attend daily planning meeting with terrain park manager and attend and reconcile a weekly scheduled “design and construction” forum. risk, feature inspections, maintenance and testing of features as well as completion of daily logs
  • Must embrace and communicate to all groomers the established operational guideline’s concerning risk management, feature placement and construction, overall park diversity and rider/skier accommodation.
  • Assist Terrain Park Manager and Day Staff Supervisor in Terrain Park Design and Construction Planning
  • Facilitate with the hiring, firing and scheduling of grooming staff
  • Collaborates and produces a team dynamic between mountain operation departments
  • Assist in development of nightly grooming plans for Terrain Parks and Ski School/Burton Academy
  • Responsible to work with Day Staff supervisor in order to direct park operations/decision making when manager is unavailable
  • Responsible for Park Report and communication between various shifts
  • Act as role model regarding employee development and guest service related initiatives
  • Assist in all trainings for Grooming Staff including daily Objectives and more advanced construction projects
  • Ongoing development of standard operating procedures in the Terrain Park
  • Other duties as assigned by Terrain Park Manager


Requirements:
  • Must have a valid driver’s license
  • Must have a minimum of 5 years of terrain park experience
  • Must have a minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience
  • Must be able to ski or ride at a level 7 ability level
  • Must have own ski or ride equipment
