The Active Directory Engineer is a member of the Enterprise Active Directory team and is responsible for engineering and supporting the operations of multiple Enterprise-class Active Directory Forests.  Areas of responsibility include: supporting and resolving issues for Server 2008 and Server 2012 Active Directory advanced functionality; authentication assistance and troubleshooting (Kerberos, LDAP, etc.); assist with migration and integration projects; assist with monitoring and auditing tools and processes; and end-user incident resolution and request fulfillment.  The ideal candidate will demonstrate past experience supporting and troubleshooting Active Directory in-depth, familiarity with PowerShell scripting, be self-motivated, with strong and effective verbal and written communication capabilities. 


As
a potential government contractor, this position requires U.S. citizenship and
proof of favorable adjudication following submission of Department of Defense
form SF85P.


Primary Responsibilities:
 
• Manage and resolve issues with Active Directory infrastructure for the Enterprise
• Evaluate current state, make recommendations, and implement solutions to enhance and improve Active Directory security, operations and processes
• Be a subject matter expert for Active Directory to assist on migrations, integrations and other projects
• Assist with supporting current and designing new implementations of monitoring and auditing tools and processes
• Assist with end-user requests and issues resolution related to Active Directory, including SPNs, GPOs, DFS, Kerberos delegation, authentication issues, etc.
• Develop and maintain process and procedures documentation
• Participate in weekly on-call rotation

Requirements

Required Qualifications:


Bachelor's Degree or High School Diploma/GED with 4+ years of Active Directory experience
4+ years of experience supporting and troubleshooting Active Directory, Windows Server 2008 and 2012, and network technologies
United States Citizenship
Ability to obtain favorable adjudication following submission of Department of Defense eQuip Form SF86
Preferred Qualifications:


Experience creating scripts using PowerShell related to querying and manipulating Active Directory objects and functionality
Experience using common Active Directory tools (DSQuery, ADSI edit, LDIF, etc.)
Experience troubleshooting authentication issues related to Kerberos, NTLM, LDAP and DNS
Experience installing and supporting Dell Software tools (InTrust, ChangeAuditor, Enterprise Reporter, Recovery Manager)
Experience supporting System Center Operations Manager (SCOM)
Experience coordinating and supporting large and complex projects including product upgrades and deployment of new capabilities, tools and enhancements
As a requirement of UnitedHealth Group's contract with the Department of Defense, this position requires U.S. citizenship and proof of favorable adjudication following submission of Department of Defense form SF86 http://www.opm.gov/forms/pdf_fill/sf86.pdf, (the National Agency Check or “NAC”).  Successful completion of the NAC process is a requirement for continued employment in this role.  NAC processing will be initiated by our TRICARE Security Officer post-offer, and can take 3-6 months for a final decision communication from the Department of Defense.  Candidates will be allowed to begin employment with UnitedHealth Group in this role based on an interim clearance, and final results will be communicated as they are received.  Failure to obtain final NAC approval will result in termination from this role.
