Administrative Assistant

Major Duties & Responsibilities:
Prepare AR/Collection reports; work with Excel spreadsheets.
Process customer invoices
Call customers and verify payment status.
Complete claim forms and/or invoices and submit to appropriate payer.
Post payments and follow-up on denials, re-billing, if necessary.
Able to conduct and coordinate payment collection on outstanding invoices
Assist department with various duties including faxing, scanning and emailing.
Stay abreast of changes in the billing guidelines.
Tracking Orders/Shipping Orders
Other duties as necessary

Minimum of 3 years working in a fast paced high volume environment Experience in the healthcare environment is a plus Knowledge of Billing and coding Strong verbal and written communication skills Strong attention to detail and goal oriented Able to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities Experience using Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word is required Preferably Medical Billing experience Should be able to decipher Explanation of Benefits Understanding of Medical Billing codes
