Staffmark has a direct hire opportunity and is currently seeking candidates with a high level of mechanical aptitude to inspect and repair rail cars in North Baltimore, Ohio. Previous experience in welding, oxyacetylene cutting, and rail car repair preferred, but not required.
Candidates filling this role will be expected to repair, modify, and upgrade rail cars utilizing a variety of hand tools, welding equipment, and oxyacetylene cutting. Candidates will also be expected to operate forklifts, hydraulic jacks, and perform computer entry. Candidates must be able to pass a physical exam and drug test.
Employees of TTX Company receive the following wages and benefits:
Base Pay
$16.83 without any prior rail car repair experience. Up to $22.44 based on at least 5 years of experience in rail car repair.
Benefits Cost Per Month
$50 a month regardless of the number of dependents. Includes major medical
and dental benefits through Blue Cross Blue Shield of Illinois and vision benefits through VSP.
Incentive
Potential annual payout of $3,850 based on location and individual goals.
Retirement
Annual 3% Company contribution of base pay to Cash Balance Pension Plan. Supplements railroad retirement benefits.
401k
Eligible on the first day of the next payroll period following their date of hire.
Company matches $0.50 on the dollar for the first 6% of the employee's contributions.
Clothing Allowance
$400 annual in addition to 2 pairs of prescription safety glasses.
Uniforms
Provided and laundered at no cost to employee.
Vacation
5 days during 1st year
