Groundwork Guyandotte Southern WV (GGSWV) is an incorporated environmental non-profit affiliate of the Groundwork USA National Network and results from the merger of Groundwork Wyoming County (GWWC) and the Upper Guyandotte Watershed Association (UGWA).UGWA was established in 2002 after a substantial flood and has managed over $500,000 in grants for projects addressing water quality issues in the area including fecal coliform bacteria, metals, and sediment.GWWC and UGWA worked together on two different Brownfield assessments and redevelopment plans with $10,000 in grants from the WV Northern Brownfield Assistance Center.Both organizations have a number of partnerships and projects committed to improving the natural resources in the area.GGSWV is dedicated to the sustained regeneration, improvement, and management of the physical environment in the Upper Guyandotte watershed in southern WV. GGSWV's initial projects include revitalizing abandoned/neglected recreational properties, improving nutrition with community gardens, developing youth job skills training teams and implementing watershed improvement projects. Job Description:
The Executive Director will serve at the direction of the GGSWV Board of Directors. Duties include but are not limited to:

Fund Development and Administration:
* Diversifying funding streams-to include foundation proposals, developing annual fundraisers, ongoing grant writing, and annual pledge drives
* Grant writing - Continue developing relationships with several previously awarded funders and proposals for projects identified with the Board of Directors and develop new partnerships with other grant funders.
* Financial management including annual budget development, reporting, and financial oversight
* Staff management and development
* Strategic and financial planning with the Board of Directors

Project Development and Evaluation:
* Utilizing the GWWC Strategic Plan and UGWA's Watershed Based Plan as foundational documents establish a work plan and criterion for projects
* Program design, assessment, and marketing
* Evaluating the effectiveness of GGSWV programs and projects
* Preparing and disseminating reports and documents that demonstrate GGSWV progress

Collaboration and Partnership
* Creating and maintaining relationships with community members, community based agencies, the Wyoming County Commission, business representatives, elected officials, and others with goals related to the GGSWV mission.
* Maintaining active communication with local partners, Groundwork USA, the National Park Service, and other Groundwork Trusts
Qualifications:
* Demonstrated grant-writing experience and successful fundraising
* Demonstrated experience in initiating and executing successful community, education, and/or environmental-oriented programs.
* Demonstrated experience in marketing and promoting programs to a variety of audiences
* Demonstrated ability to prepare and implement organizational plans e.g. strategic plans, scopes of work, fund development plans
* Strong communication skills, both oral and written
* Must have reliable transportation, proof of insurance, and valid Driver's License

Compensation
Salary $35,000 - $40,000 BOE plus benefits
Start-up funding is secure for one year, but long term funding is contingent upon the development success of the Executive Director.
