The Associate Finance Director role provides financial planning and analysis support for the Customer Care & Distribution Services operations (formerly part of CS&S and Catalyst360) within Optum Shared Services.  This complex, multi-site operation has annual operating costs of $400 million and staffing levels of approximately 6,000, excluding the normal seasonal ramp. 
 
The finance leader will interface and support with the senior leadership team and provide financial planning, analysis and decision support, including:

Responsibility for month end close management reporting, analysis and allocations
Developing financial forecasts to reflect operational volumes, rate trends and mix
Build and maintain workforce labor models based on pricing models and operations metrics, resulting in accurate cost and FTE monthly forecast trends.  Models will consider impact of expected turnover, training time and business volume changes
Prepare and analyze volume/rate/mix analysis to understand changes in operational productivity, capital and other investments, cost drivers (labor rates, real estate, onshore/offshore mix, technology costs)
Develop appropriate cost allocation methodologies, provide transparency during forecast development and monitor allocation process during month end close; and prepare and deliver financial and operational presentations to operators, financial leadership, shared services leadership and P&L owner/business leadership
Provide key inputs to operational scorecards and ensure financial and operational metrics are aligned
Manage direct staff of two financial analysts; collaborate with business finance and accounting staff, and shared services FP&A and Accounting staff

Required Qualifications:


Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
5+ years of relevant financial planning and analysis experience
3+ years of supervisory experience
Strong analytic background and attention to detail
Excellent communication and organization skills
Advanced skills in MS Excel, MS Office product suite, and other technology tools
Ability to work in a matrix environment while positively influencing other areas
Preferred Qualifications:


Project management or process improvement experience

MBA or CPA

Healthcare experience

Hyperion Essbase and PeopleSoft experience
