Job Description
The Home Health Aide/Hospice Aide is a trained person who provides personal care and assistance in activities of daily living for people in their place of residence. These services are included in a written plan of care prepared by a health care professional and signed by a physician. The Home Health Aide/Hospice Aide works under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse and/or when appropriate a Physical, Occupational or Speech Therapist under the delegation of their License.
Basic Qualifications:
High School Graduate or GED equivalency preferred. Meets Federal and State guidelines required to work as a Home Health Aide in a certified licensed Home Health agency. Has worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant within the past 24 months preferred.
Other Qualifications:
Skills Needed:Ability to read and communicate effectively in English.Basic computer skills and experience with other technological devices. (i.e. cell phone, black berries, etc...)Ability to work irregular hours (days, evenings, holidays, weekends).Self motivated.Able and willing to drive in all weather conditions.Able and willing to work with all populations served.
License or Certification:
Meets Federal and State guidelines required to work as a Home Health Aide in a certified licensed Home Health agency. Certified Nursing Assistant, on State of Wisconsin Registry. Current Basic Life Support certification or the ability to be certified prior to patient care. Valid driver's license, reliable transportation and acceptable driving record.
Benefit Eligible: Yes
Exemption Status: Non-exempt
Hours/Pay Period: 64 hours per pay period
Schedule Details: Monday through Friday 8-4:30pm
Weekend Schedule: Every other weekend with the possibility of on call on the weekend
Compensation Detail: Education, experience, and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended. The minimum pay rate is $11.69 per hour
