Job Description
The Nursing Assistant is responsible to complete delegated tasks that assist RNs in the delivery of patient care. The nursing assistant carries out designated activities that are within those functions limited by law to unlicensed nursing personnel. They participate in care of all ages, newborn to elderly under supervision of the RN staff.
Basic Qualifications:
Experience as a nursing assistant is highly recommended. Proficient in the use of equipment: vital signs machines, thermometers, telephone, copy machines, carts, mechanical lifts, whirlpool tubs, etc. As of October 1, 2011 all new nursing assistants are required to obtain and maintain Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) competency.
Other Qualifications:
Successful completion of a vocational program for nursing assistants, including the acute care component or equivalent experience/education. Experience or education must have occurred within the last five years.
License or Certification:
Nursing Assistants are required to be certified nursing assistants (CNA) prior to employment. Successful completion of a vocational program for nursing assistants, including the acute care component or equivalent experience/e

Exemption Status: Non-exempt
Hours/Pay Period: 60
Schedule Details: 12 hour shifts D/E/N
