Geologist

Job Description:

-Primary responsibilities will be leading a construction crew on a land renovation project in Lake Forest, IL.
-Running daily safety meetings with crew on site. The crew consists of seven people including four excavation people and four laborers
-Will conduct soil sampling on site. This consists of going out and collecting "dirt" samples and sending to the lab.
-Will also conduct photon ionization detection tests using a PDI machine. Do not have to have expereince with this but it will be taught.
-Will send weekly update log to the owner of the project on weekly progress, visitors onsite, upcoming weekly plans, problems on the site and updated schedule log.
-The second part of this position includes doing more Phase 1 type of geolgoy work for smaller jobs at Jacob and Hefner.

Work Environment:

-Working 90% of the time on a construction site, the remaining 10 percent of the job will be at other job sites doing more traditional Phase 1 work and report writing.

-This is an all day on your feet position

Qualifications:

-Bachelors Degree in Geology

-OSHA 40 Hour highly preferred
